The Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County is a consortium of nine school districts in the Northeastern Region of Pennsylvania. Opened in 1973 for the high school students of our area, The Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County provides Instruction in twenty six different career areas.
Formerly Lackawanna County Area Vocational Technical School, the campus is located conveniently off Exit 56 of Interstate 81 in Scranton. Situated on over 90 acres, the facility is handicap accessible, has a full service cafeteria and restaurant, greenhouses, conference rooms and state of the art technology laboratories. The building utilizes a T1 line for Internet Access, is 100% wired and hosts a Web Site at http://www.ctclc.edu.
The Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County has an approved Strategic Plan, Technology Plan and is an active partner in many educational initiatives. Operation of the school is overseen by a Joint Operating Committee, comprised of school board members from the consortia’s school districts. Administration and faculty are active in the community, in the educational and public sector.
Although created for the students of the region, the Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County hosts a wide variety of Adult Education and Workforce Development programming at a reasonable cost providing education for entry level professions, self enrichment, certification and skill enhancement. The full time Practical Nursing program for the Adult population continues to expand as demand in the Health Care Industries continues to grow throughout our area.
